The Alberta Construction Training Institute (ACTI) located in Edmonton and Calgary is a training company with a combined experience of over 100 years in Construction, Engineering and Management training fields.
ACTI instructors have been instructing health, safety, management and engineering training in Alberta for over 20 years. Our focus is on construction safety and training through classroom and advanced instructional skill evaluation both with traditional equipment and our virtual reality simulations. See our course description page for a detailed list of instructor lead courses we provide.
We have also just developed a 40 hr training course based on the Construction Industry Institute (CII) and Construction Owners of Alberta Association (COAA) best practices with multi discipline work packaging for Advanced Work Face Planning.
ACTI has created multiple VR construction simulations for the industrial, commercial, vendor product and public emergency response sectors. Please see our website pages for descriptions and contact information if you are interested in scheduling a course or a demo on a training simulation for your company.
This rigging fundamentals course equips participants with an understanding of industry regulations and standards as well as the ability to recognize the proper rigging equipment for the applicable load and basic rigging calculations.
Participants discuss the hazards associated with overhead cranes, hoists and the rigging of loads. Relevant legislation will be explored along with the practical methods for recognizing and assessing these hazards
This course is designed for workers who are required to lift or move heavy loads. Course content includes: Identify potential rigging hazards Saskatchewan OH&S legislated standards Employer, supervisor and worker responsibilities Calculate load weights and limits.
This course provides participants with information regarding rigging hazards, rigging hardware, configurations and how to properly inspect rigging gear. Review of applicable New Brunswick OH& S Regulations is also a key aspect of this course.
