The national program includes 9 additional provinces and 3 territories specific legislative requirements covering applicable OH&S, CSA & ISO standards. This program allows for mobility of workers across Canada.
On completion of this course you will know:
Basic knowledge and proficiency in the identification and classification of confined spaces and in the identification of restricted spaces
How to recognize risks and hazards of confined/restricted spaces demonstrate knowledge of methods of controlling them
How to define the duties of a confined space attending worker (monitor)
How to apply knowledge of Canadian legislation and the Code of Practice to work in each province.
The Alberta Construction Training Institute (ACTI) located in Edmonton and Calgary is a training company with a combined experience of over 100 years in Construction, Engineering and Management training fields.
ACTI instructors have been instructing health, safety, management and engineering training in Alberta for over 20 years. Our focus is on construction safety and training through classroom and advanced instructional skill evaluation both with traditional equipment and our virtual reality simulations. We have also just developed a 40 hr training course based on the Construction Industry Institute (CII) and Construction Owners of Alberta Association (COAA) best practices with multi discipline work packaging for Advanced Work Face Planning.
ACTI has created multiple VR construction simulations for the industrial, commercial, vendor product and public emergency response sectors. Each worker has a role to play in safety. The role of the supervisor directly impacts the success of any Health and Safety Program by the effectiveness of its implementation and enforcement.
Our forklift training programs have been generated using the CSA Standard B335 and includes the elements of competency based on the definition from the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
If machinery could unexpectedly activate or if the unexpected release of an energy source could cause injury, the energy source must be isolated and controlled.
This is a one-day program that is designed for all workers, supervisors, managers, engineers and health and safety committee members.
