Paula Knight grew up beside beautiful Mount Maunganui Beach in the Bay of Plenty. In London, Paula worked in design and studied life painting in oils at Wimbledon School of Art. A two year journey travelling through Africa saw her botanical painting career begin.
Paula’s background as a watercolour botanical artist shows in the intimate detail of her work. “With the botanical studies I only paint from life to gain the purist understanding of colour, texture, form and light.” Paula’s work has hung in numerous galleries around New Zealand and has attracted international attention.
Paula has exhibited in the Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Fest since its beginnings; both her work and her garden have a distinctive New Zealand native appeal. Paula has had two series of NZ Flora and Fauna paintings published by an international card company and have featured on magazine covers. Paula’s paintings and gardens have been featured on the Australian garden television series Garden Gurus.
