Prerequisite.

This course is suitable for complete beginners and do not require any prior learning to be able to train with us. Many of our students are not beauty trained and are looking to start up a business in the industry. We welcome students of all abilities, whether you are looking to start from scratch, or are currently working as a tattooist and looking to advance your knowledge and skills.

Course duration.

The course duration is 60 hours. Most students complete it in 8 weeks, part-time. But you have unlimited time to complete the course. If you have to take time out to care for your family or business, it is not a problem. Next time you log in, you can simply continue from exactly where you have stopped previously.

And if you have to go back to study material you’ve previously complete it is also not a problem. You can go back to previous modules and sections as much and often as you have to. On the other hand. If you want to complete the course in the shortest possible time, you can. You do not have to wait on another student. Or other limitations, like in-person sessions.

Practical training.

This course is an online course and can be completed from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access. The knowledge you gain from this course is applicable on all makes and models of equipment, because it is first-principle based.

LaserCollege do not provide practical training as part of this course for the following reasons. There are hundreds of different makes and models of machines available on the market. You will probably only work with one or two of these.

Practical training on a specific machine is usually provided by the distributor or manufacturer of the machine you’ve bought. Or else it is provided by the clinic that will employ you, on the equipment you will be working with. Machine specific training very seldom can be transferred between different makes of machines.

The average tattoo removal treatment course consists of 12+ sessions. These sessions are usually two to three months apart. Therefore, to have sensible practical training on a machine you have to complete at least one full treatment course with the same machine on the same person with the same tattoo.

This means that your training will take place over a period of two to three years and you will not be able to transfer much of what you’ve learned from handling that machine to another machine. How to hold the hand-piece. How to adjust the settings on the machine.

How and how much to adapt the energy between sessions. Are all knowledge that you cannot transfer between different makes of machines. We teach you the meaning and function of each treatment parameter and how they influence each other. The different wavelengths for the treatment of different colours.

What pulse duration to start a treatment series with or end with. The frequency to use. These are all theory you need to know and understand before you touch a machine. This is what you get from this course.

What to expect from the learning platform when you enrol.

You will have your own private dashboard from where you control your study environment. Every time you log in, you will first go to your dashboard and from here you can enter your course. The course is divided into multiple modules. All the modules have the same basic design. Each module starts with a textbook section relevant to the module.

Following the textbook section you will get your module assignment. This assignment can be done offline and then be uploaded or you can enter it directly in via the online text editor. Next you will find a section with videos and text documents explaining and demonstrating the topics taught in the module.

Once, you have completed your assignment you will have access to the module test. This is an open book, online test limited in time. On completion of the module test you are ready to move on to the next module.
