A style originating in the USA and famously seen on stage and screen, Tap Dance is a fun and creative dance style that uses percussive footwork to create exciting performance. An excellent way to develop a child's musicality, self-discipline and self-esteem.
At the Dance Factory we have an unparalleled commitment to quality Dance Education and have worked tirelessly over the past thirty years to achieve our status as an Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, Approved Dance Centre offering the, government recognised professional teaching qualifications of the Diploma in Dance Education (DDE).
The ISTD is accredited by Ofqual. We teach children from three years of age onwards and many former students have gone on to have successful and fulfilling careers in the performing arts worldwide as performers, educators and administrators. We also have had students go on to further their education at Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College, Italia Conti, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, Performers College and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
Tap is characterised by using the sounds of metal taps fixed to the shoe striking the floor as a form of percussion coupled with both characteristic and interpretative body movements
Tap classes are offered by Timms School of Dance. Students are encouraged to develop at their own pace which helps to make them feel at ease and confident, learning a new skill whilst having lots of fun, and making lots of new friends.

Tap dance classes are offered by SR Dance Academy. We provide dance classes to children and adults. We offer a safe haven for students to meet new friends, express themselves through dance and overall build self esteem.
Ages 6-8. Basic ballet technique with little or no prior training.
