Simple Thimbles’ afterschool program consists of 4 separate levels. The students start with Level 1 and move their way up. Each level runs for 6 weeks with a one 1hr 15min class per week.
Simple Thimbles’ afterschool program consists of 4 separate levels. The students start with Level 1 and move their way up. Each level runs for 6 weeks with a one 1hr 15min class per week. The students build upon the skills learned from each subsequent level.
Overall the program provides over 20 unique projects, typically completing one project per class. We have created the curriculum to where several projects include a take home instruction sheet for home use. In our afterschool program we provide all tools and materials so the students come as they are. When Randy and Carla first met, they shared a passion for sewing and enjoyed creating projects and sharing ideas with each other. Soon, they had a great idea to create Simple Thimbles. Simple Thimbles is unique in that we bring the art of sewing to you, through our mobile sewing classes.
Sewing Circle is our beginner Machine sewing class open to kids ages 7 -13. This course recurs monthly with new projects each month to join in on the fun.
Come learn to sew on a sewing machine, no experience necessary! We sew for Juliette the Fox and are fashioning a matching vest and skirt and lap quilt in a playful dancing cat fabric. Other projects include a Nutcracker Christmas pennant and an original Juliette Christmas ornament incorporating app...
Heirloom Sewing has long been associated with high quality cotton, silk or linen fabrics, French or English laces, Swiss embroidered lace, fine hand embroidery or lovely machine embroidery. All of this specialty area of sewing allows for creativity on the part of the seamstress.
