This course is a continuation of American Sign Language .
Focus will be on conversational sign language.
You will learn to talk about family and everyday activities; as well you will learn about ASL storytelling and get the opportunity to develop your own story in class.
The course will cover units 4-6 in the Signing Naturally Level 1 Curriculum. Class includes a lab component weeks three to ten as indicated in the second line of the schedule. The textbook is required for the first class.

This course introduces foundations of American Sign Language including linguistic perspectives, dialogue skill set, vocabulary, and syntax. Instruction may also include sociocultural contexts regarding the Deaf community, culture, and history.

This course provides opportunities for students to develop interpreting skills and practice professional skills under supervision
This course will teach you the basic steps of developing interactive skills as a health care provider when you face Deaf/hard-of-hearing patients.
