This course offers an introduction to the alphabet, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary of Modern Standard Arabic. Students will learn to read the primary consonants and vowels of the Arabic alphabet in the context of several key everyday words and greetings.
This course offers an introduction to the alphabet, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary of Modern Standard Arabic. Students will learn to read the primary consonants and vowels of the Arabic alphabet in the context of several key everyday words and greetings.
Snippets of grammar (grammatical gender, adjectival phrases, nominal sentences, noun case-declension) will be delivered through concise outlines and activated through interactive exercises and audio-visual materials. Students will learn to read and reproduce a complete introductory conversation in Arabic, exchanging basic greetings and concise biographical information.
