Learning Arabic and the culture of the people who speak it will make it easier for you conduct business as there is a high demand for Arabic speakers in different industries with few Western people who can speak it.Â
Arabic is the official language of 25 countries. The literary language (Modern Standard Arabic or al-fuSHaa) is uniform across the Arabic-speaking world: from Morocco in the west to the borders of Iran in the east, and from Lebanon in the north to Sudan in the south.Â
This course is a continuation of Beginning Arabic I. It will integrate acquisition of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) with study of Arabic culture and civilization. Prerequisite: ARAB 1311 or equivalent or instructor consent required.
Even if you're a beginner, become a conversational Arabic speaker in a matter of weeks. Get started with the alphabet, vowels, and simple phrases & expressions.
The mission of the Arabic program is to provide proficiency-based teaching of the Arabic language and culture, in order to foster knowledge and understanding of the Arabic-speaking world.
