Hands-on learning in a shop environment, classroom theory, MITT's Bridging to Work workshops, and the opportunity to complete a five-week work practicum combine to equip Automotive Service Technician students with career-ready fundamentals in automotive repair, basic diagnostics, and troubleshooting in just 10 months.
Graduates who meet specific criteria can earn credit toward Apprenticeship Manitoba Level 1.

Individuals with a passion for hands-on work, an interest in technology and problem solving, and a desire to share their knowledge and advice in conversations with customers.
Entrance Requirements
Manitoba high school diploma (or expected completion within 45 days of the program start date), or equivalent, including:
Students needing to upgrade any of these high school requirements may contact one of MITT’s Adult Learning Centres (ALC).If educated outside of Canada, applicants must also have demonstrated English Language Proficiency.
MITT provides certificate, post-graduate, and diploma-level technical training for career-oriented post-secondary and secondary students in six clusters of specialization: skilled trades, design and manufacturing technologies, applied business, information and communication technology, health care, and human services.
A hallmark of MITT’s approach is its deep collaboration with industry. Together, we identify skills gaps—both technical and employment skills, develop curriculum to meet them, and create work practicum opportunities that help students build connections with prospective employers while they learn.

At the end of the program, you’ll have transferable skills you can apply to other trades, including agricultural machinery technician, heavy duty equipment technician, truck and transport mechanic.
The program will provide students with the basic fundamental knowledge, practical skills and all certifications needed to gain employment in the automotive mechanic industry.
In this program you work on cars in a live shop using the latest technology.
Imagine yourself using the latest diagnostic scan tools, computer repair software, and the newest tools and equipment while learning to diagnose and repair vehicles.
This instructor-led, live training (online or onsite) is aimed at automotive professionals who wish to implement the ISO 26262 standard within their organization.
