The course is designed to support you in preparing or starting in a teaching role in post-compulsory education, enhancing your knowledge and your professional practice in the workplace.
The Award contains 3 components (12 credits) on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)
The units are:
Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training sector: 3 credits
Understanding and using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in education and training: 6 credits
Understanding assessment in education and training: 3 credits
The qualification consists of 39 contact hours and 45 non-contact hours, which cover taught and personal study time.
You’ll be studying alongside other professionals so there will be plenty of opportunity to share ideas and best practice. You’ll also have the support of your tutor who will offer you guidance which will enable you to succeed on the course.
You will also be required to complete a 15 minute micro teach session towards the end of the course to assist towards evidence for unit 3 of the qualification requirements.

Throughout the course, you’ll develop your personal and professional skills as you explore teaching, learning and curriculum development. You’ll also focus on your subject specialist area, putting a significant amount of your learning into practice in your place of work.
