Shri Gujarati Samaj B. Ed. College was established by Shri Gujarati Samaj Trust, Indore in the year 2005 with the well defined motive of serving the people of Indore in the field of Teacher Education. The College runs B.Ed. course, a two year Graduate Programme (since 2015), which is recognized by the NCTE (APW/01862/223388).
It is also affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishvavidyalaya and Higher Education, M.P. Govt. Rajya Shiksha Kendra. The College was accredited by NAAC, with ‘B’ Grade. The college strictly follow the criteria for admission to the B. Ed. Program as directed by the higher education and the reservation policies of the State Government. The college adopts a number of strategies to cater the diverse needs of its teacher trainees. In order to overcome the issue of diversity, all the classes in our college are bilingual. The instructional approaches and learning experiences provided to our trainees are comprehensive keeping in mind the stated objectives of B.Ed. programme.
The student-teachers are also motivated to involve themselves in co-curricular activities. They are provided with personal and career guidance. The college has also established a placement cell in 2014, which is working efficiently till then. By the year 2020, 12 batches have been trained and passed out from the college and most of them have occupied prestigious positions in the field of Education.
The college has the physical infrastructure as per the NCTE norms. The total built up area of the college is 2134.02 sq. m.
The college has adequate and large sized, well ventilated classrooms with basic facilities like fans, lights, furniture, and green-boards. There are well equipped laboratories like Educational Technology Laboratory, Information and Communication Resource Centre, Psychology Laboratory Language Laboratory, Science Laboratory, Sports lab, and Art & Craft Resource Centre, with necessary apparatus, tools, and equipments.
The college also possess a Multipurpose Hall for conducting various co-curricular activities like indoor games and cultural programmes. In recent circumstance of COVID-19, the college is determined to follow all the academic guidelines provided by the higher education along with the mandatory health guidelines and necessary precautions like wearing masks, and keeping social distancing.
Therefore, college is running online classes for running batches since April 2020 using virtual classroom platforms.
B.Ed. course is offered by Sealdah Group of Colleges. The main aim and object of this institution is to arrange man-making education and to create a lively learning atmosphere in the ceircumference of the institution.
