The degree provides an industry-responsive curriculum with a focus on experience design and implementation, management of organizations and human capital, data-driven decision-making, service quality, marketing, risk management and financing of programs/services. Courses are offered in person, with some also available in distance formats.
Students are expected to familiarize themselves thoroughly with the regulations of the University, to accept responsibilities for course requirements for their degrees, and to make inquiries in case of doubt. It shall not be the University's responsibility should complications arise because of failure to follow regulations and requirements.
Regulations will not be waived nor exceptions to requirements made on a plea of ignorance. Students, therefore, should become familiar with all of the information related to their program of study contained in the on-line university catalog.
Personal announcements sent to students through A&M-San Antonio’s e-mail are the official means of communicating course and university business with students–not the U.S. Mail and not other e-mail addresses. Students must check their A&M-San Antonio e-mail accounts regularly, if not daily. The Texas Legislature asked The Texas A&M University System to establish a center that would offer junior- and senior-level courses in south San Antonio, an area that has been historically underserved in terms of higher education. The University, then known as Texas A&M University-Kingsville System Center-San Antonio, was approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in January 2000. On May 23, 2009, Gov. Rick Perry signed Senate Bill 629 that created Texas A&M University-San Antonio as a stand-alone university.
