St. Theresa’s Hospital was established in 1972, and from its inception it was a teaching hospital for the Auxiliary Nurse & Midwifery (ANM) training. It has been a cherished dream of the pioneer sisters, to upgrade the ANM into General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) and also to have a full-fledged Bachelors of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.) & the Masters of Science in Nursing (M.Sc).

The Hospital also organises DNB course in Medicine, Surgery, and OBG specialities. The long cherished dream of 1972 was realized with the commencement of GNM in 1981 and B.Sc. (N) in 2001 and The M.Sc. (N) in the year 2008.
Rev. Sr. Marianne Adayadil, the Emeritus Principal and the National awardee of Florence Nightingale for the year 2008, was the founder and first principal of St. Theresa’s School and JMJ College of Nursing. St. Theresa’s School, was established in 1972 with English & Telugu Media caters to school education of children from middle class and lower middle class from city’s urban and semi urban areas.
