St. Theresa’s Convent is one of the many establishments of the society of Jesus Mary Joseph (JMJ) in India with a network of activities. The St. Theresa’s Institutions are registered and managed by the St. Theresa’s Convent Society, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad.
St. Theresa’s Hospital was established in 1972, and from its inception it was a teaching hospital for the Auxiliary Nurse & Midwifery (ANM) training. It has been a cherished dream of the pioneer sisters, to upgrade the ANM into General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) and also to have a full-fledged Bachelors of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.) & the Masters of Science in Nursing (M.Sc).
St. Theresa’s Hospital has bed strength of 385. It is a parent affiliated hospital to JMJ College of Nursing and St. Theresa’s School of Nursing. The Hospital also organises DNB course in Medicine, Surgery, and OBG specialities. The long cherished dream of 1972 was realized with the commencement of GNM in 1981 and B.Sc. (N) in 2001 and The M.Sc. (N) in the year 2008.
Rev. Sr. Marianne Adayadil, the Emeritus Principal and the National awardee of Florence Nightingale for the year 2008, was the founder and first principal of St. Theresa’s School and JMJ College of Nursing. St. Theresa’s School, was established in 1972 with English & Telugu Media caters to school education of children from middle class and lower middle class from city’s urban and semi urban areas.
B.Sc. Nursing course is offered by Jesus Mary Joseph College of Nursing. JMJ Nursing Institutes are committed to the development of Nursing professionals of Global standard, having high sense of scholarship and a deep commitment of service to humanity.
