Bachata dance differs from salsa in its rhythm; the main characteristic of this dance is the small hip movement on the 4th beat.
Salsa is a fun partner dance that you can learn right here in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. We hold regular classes in both Hastings and Napier cities for your convenience.
Currently, we hold social nights (Salsa Dance Parties) every Friday, where you can practice your moves and hang out with other Salseros of all levels. Our social nights are currently held in Hastings at Level one bar in King Street. Note this is licensed premises (R18).
Our club is aligned with other Salsa groups throughout New Zealand. We are supported by experienced and Professional instructors based within New Zealand and Internationally. We aim to bring visiting instructors to Hawke's Bay for workshop weekends, several times a year.
Bachata is a partner dance. Our bachata courses are progressive, you can join up to week 2 or 3.
Latin dance classes are offered by InStep Dance Studio. InStep Dance Studio principals Chris & Anne Leitch have been dancing since their early teens. With over 40 years teaching experience they have taught thousands of people the pleasurable art of ballroom dancing.
An amazing open non examination class designed to solidify your ballet technique. Explaining new ways to think of executing a move, or how to get your posture strong and secure.
The dances you will learn as a beginner include Bachata and Argentine Tango.
The class is taken by our very passionate & fun instructor Mike Hobbs. You will simply love it!
