All universities and many private colleges offer different registered and accredited BEd degrees. These degrees are offered either in face-to-face lecture room settings, online, distance and in some instances a blend of these modes.
Depending on where you register to study and which degree you select you will be able to determine your desired mode of study and specialisation.
NewBridge College offers a voluntary and additional support programme for students who elect to study an external distance BEd degree through South Africa’s largest distance University.
NewBridge College offers a full-time campus environment for students who see the value and flexibility offered by studying towards a distance degree, but who also seek the full time Campus experience, extra lessons through our support programme, personal and professional development and an active sport and social life.

The four-year Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching (NQF 7, 516 credits) is designed to equip students to be fully qualified educators for employment in the foundation phase (Grades R to 3).
B.Ed Degree Foundation is currently being offered in partnership with a private institution, until we have finalised our own accreditation.
The BEd qualifies you to teach in any school in South Africa and to register with the South African Council of Educators (SACE).
This programme is designed primarily for students who wish to progress to an academic Master’s degree in Education.
The purpose of the Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and FET Teaching is to deliver professionally qualified beginner teachers for the Senior and FET phase of schooling.
