Join us in our brand-new professional kitchens at Inspire Learning Centre, High Pavement, Sutton-in-Ashfield, for a five-week course. Create a selection of delicious hand-made cakes and bakes.
Learn how to make a lemon cake, chocolate cake, carrot cake, white chocolate and raspberry blondies, red velvet cake.
This course is a beginners guide to learn about making products made with fresh ingredients.
You will learn skills and techniques to bake from scratch.

How to make red velvet cake.
Learners will have produced a selection of cake and bake treats to share with their family or friends.
Ingredients:
Lemon cake :
225g / 8oz unsalted butter, room temperature
225g/ 8oz caster sugar
275g/ 10oz self-rising flour
2 level teaspoon baking powder
4 large eggs
4 tablespoons milk
Grated zest of 2 lemons
Lemon drizzle:
175g 6oz granulated sugar
Juice of 2 lemons

Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries is a charitable community benefit society delivering cultural and learning services across Nottinghamshire. The society is owned and controlled by its members. Members are drawn from the community, and all staff become members of the society when appointed. The society is governed by a board of 12 elected and nominated directors, including a staff elected board member.

We're an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, which means funding thanks to taxpayers and National Lottery players plays a huge part in supporting our work.
Inspire became a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) in 2018 resulting in a £1.2M investment between 2018 – 2023 from Arts Council England to deliver a cultural programme through the library service. Inspire are delighted to remain part of the National Portfolio for 2023-2026 and will receive £504,599 each year for this three-year period.
Inspire is also the host organisation for the Cultural Education Partnership (CEP) for Ashfield and Mansfield.
We deliver services from 67 buildings across Nottinghamshire and 4 vehicles, have over 750 people working for us and have an annual turnover of £17.2M.

The cake you make in class. What we provide: We have a fully equipped, purpose-built studio, and provide all the tools and equipment you need during the class, and a box to take your cake home.

This cake decorating class is aimed at beginners to cake decorating.
This Cook Together Adult & Child class will teach you and your child how to make a set of trendy cakesicles. These incredibly cute treats can be made in any colour which you’ll be able to choose on the day along with taking your pick of sprinkles from our huge sprinkle collection.
Get creative with our Monster Bake month and dress up a delicious soft sponge cake with icing fur and features to make your very special edible creature. You can choose to make a puppet creation of your own or take inspiration from one of your favourite puppets or monsters.
