Our dancers learn in-depth Ballet technique through this curriculum-based method. Teachers and dancers can decide to participate in Ballet exams through this program if they choose. At higher levels, if skill shows and with approval from teachers, Pointe shoes will be allowed.
We offer fun, positive and energetic classes in many genres and are committed to our students.Dance Essence is a Royal Academy of Dance certified studio.
Students will improve their listening skills, musicality, focus, and memory, while gaining a greater appreciation of how their bodies move in the space around them.
Adults are welcome to train in pointe class regardless of their experience, but must be patient about progress – pointe shoes may only be purchased and practiced in once the teacher deems it safe.
Our Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) program at NLDC launched in Fall 2020 and we are lucky enough to have TWO PBT certified faculty members: Ms. Megan and Ms. Rosemarie. We have PBT classes available for ages 8 to adult.
Pointe dancers, demonstrate commitment and dedication towards the art of ballet and the potential to grow as a ballerina. Dancers will need to purchase a pair of pointe shoes. This is just the beginning of a new found freedom and love you will have for the art of ballet.Â
In the same way that an NBA player needs to practice his free throw hundreds of times to build muscle memory and strength for when it counts, a dancer needs to practice their technique.
