Whether your child gracefully twirls around the room and talks about “tutus” all day long, or obsesses over getting that “killer hard split-jump” right in their jazz class, Ballet provides a strong and dependable dance foundation for anyone.
Learn to stand with confidence, move with precision, and develop accurate posture and alignment. Gain poise, grace, self-confidence, and strength. Ballet gives all these benefits and more, teaching commitment, determination, and body-awareness.
Ballet class studies include a syllabus and free work that reflect the needs and progress of each class level. Because of the physical demands and expectations at higher levels, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, and Senior classes attend twice weekly.
Additional classes are often recommended and sometimes even required to strengthen and build upon techniques. See each individual class level for details.
Free House Dance Plus was founded in 1988 by director Kathie Bernard in answer to a need for a quality, non-competitive dance studio with a personalized, inclusive, feel-good environment.
In 1991, serendipity brought the school to its current excellent, bright, convenient location in the quiet inner-city residential community of Briar Hill. FREE HOUSE Dance Plus operates in a single use, purpose-built facility with 4 bright & open classrooms.
Nearby, our students enjoy plentiful amenity space, adjacency to a family-friendly park and a short two block walk to the Lion’s Park LRT station.
Our Mission:
To educate – our focus, our mandate, our passion.
To ignite – your passion, your creativity, your inspiration.
To create – community, awareness, connection.
The strength and mobility of the feet as well as those of the ankles are developed through various exercises
Under the Artistic Direction of Ashley Berrns (ADAPT) Dance Ink is proud to offer an inclusive and safe environment for all.
A highly technical form of dance, that helps define the foundational techniques used in many other dance genres. It teaches posture, grace and balance, which will aid the growth of dancers in all genres.
Once these levels are completed the dancer will move into classical ballet training. When studying the Cecchetti syllabus, a minimum of two ballet classes per week are recommended in order the dancer to become a candidate for exams
In the same way that an NBA player needs to practice his free throw hundreds of times to build muscle memory and strength for when it counts, a dancer needs to practice their technique.
