We highly recommend this subject for pupils looking to go into a career in dance. Pupils that show exceptional potential in classical dance will be recommended to Audition for Royal Ballet Junior associates and Northern Ballet Associates to provide extra training along side our classes.
Pupils are entered for examinations with the ISTD. The Syllabus is designed accordingly so pupils learn how to execute the steps correctly and develop a strong technique. Our teachers give the children the best training possible in order to be at a high standard by the time they reach 16 years. Ballet training ideally needs to start between the ages of 5 and 8 years in order to be at a high standard by their teens.
Spotlight Stage School was established in 1993 with forty pupils attending the first day! Numbers have now more than doubled and we presently have 100 pupils attending.
We offer Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz classes throughout the week and on Saturdays.
These classes develop the co-ordination, confidence, strength and flexibility of each child providing an all round excellent training in all dance subjects.
Technical dance standards have soared over the last five years, with 100% pass rate in Ballet, Tap & Modern Examinations with the – with All pupils achieving High Merits and Distinctions.
Dance examination work is taught through to intermediate Level in Modern,Tap and Ballet with the ISTD.
The ISTD is one of the world leading Exam Boards and provides the correct training for dancers to a high standard.
Grade 6 and Intermediate Examinations are equivalent to so many UCAS points for anyone going to University.
Ballet Classes are offered by Amy Greaves School of Dance. The ethos of the dance school is to create a safe, fun and nurturing environment where students can develop and make outstanding progress. We offer a wide range of dance styles and students can participate in regular show and exam work.
Ballet (ISTD Primary) classes are offered by The Vernon Johnson School Of Dance. It is one of the longest running dance schools in Liverpool. Whether you have one or two left feet anyone can learn to dance. There is something for all ages and abilities.
Adult Ballet (Beginners/Refreshers) classes are offered by Whitchurch Dance Studio Whitchurch Dance Studio welcomes students aged 2 1/2 years to adults to a variety of classes.
This beautiful classical art form is the basis and grounding of all Dance and movement.
Primary Ballet dance classes are offered by SD Studios. Founded by professional performer Sarah Smith, SD Studios aim to give students the highest possible level of performing arts training to create well rounded, "triple threat" performers.
