Banjo Lessons are offered by House of Music.
The House of Music began in 2005 with a single office above Great Harvest in Linden Hills, lead by original owner Cindy Smedburg. With rapid growth, the business was soon moved to a cozy location in the heart of Linden Hills, in the rear of the building located at 4306 Upton Ave S.
In 2009, current owner Brad McLemore bought the business, and with steady growth, opened a second location dubbed the "Lake Harriet" House of Music located at 4948 Washburn Avenue South.
During the pandemic of 2020 the House of Music consolidated to the larger location at 4948 Washburn. Brad has collaborated with a growing number of talented teachers and musicians to expand the music school to include summer camps, group classes, workshops and an early childhood music programs.
The House of Music frequently provides opportunities for it's student body to perform at one of the many events throughout Linden Hills and Southwest Minneapolis including Woofstock, The Big Cornfeed,The Edina Art Fair, Open Streets Events and other local events.
The House of Music proudly offers support and collaboration with local public schools, private schools and the Linden Hills Business Association. As we continue to grow, our focus is to offer musical instruction to our community and connect with our neighbors through music.
