The ASHI Basic First Aid training program is intended for individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers but desire or are required to be certified in basic emergency medical care. There are no class prerequisites.

CPR First Aid training is offered as a 4 hour in person class aimed at teaching individuals how to perform life-saving techniques in the event of an emergency. It stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and is typically taught through a combination of hands-on practice and classroom instruction.

CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and is a procedure wherein measures are taken to help one’s body keep pumping blood from the heart to the brain. When cardiac arrest, or a heart attack, occurs the heart ceases to pump blood.
There are two CPR certifications available: BLS Provider for prehospital medical professionals and Heartsaver AED for non-medical professionals. An individual does not need to take both versions of the class.
