Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) also known as micro-needling, is a procedure that improves the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks by stimulating your skin’s natural wound healing ability to repair itself.

It refers to the effect that micro injury to the surface of the skin results in new collagen formation. It is most commonly spoken about in the minimally invasive arena of micro-needling treatments. Anytime there is injury to the skin, repair occurs through the formation of new collagen.

It is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles (micro-needling the skin). It is a technique for which research is ongoing but has been used for a number of skin problems including scarring and acne.
