Basic.fst course is an employee level food safety certification course. Basic.fst is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course designed for front line food service workers such as cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, and deli workers.
The course covers important food safety and worker safety information including food borne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing.
It has been designed to meet all the requirements of the Canadian Food Retail and Food services Code and Regulations.
Basic.fst course is approved all over Canada and is equivalent to food safe level 1 in BC
Once the test has been written, we will ship the test to our Toronto Head Office (within 24 hours) to be marked. This usually takes approximately 2 weeks to process, and then our Toronto Head Office will send us the certificate for passing exam writers.
Please note that the whole process takes 4 weeks from writing the test to getting the certificate. The instructor cannot tell the exam writer on the day of the exam whether or not they have passed the exam.

Basic.fst workbooks are available in English and French only.
Certification
Students must achieve 74% or more on the written multiple-choice examination. This certification expires after 5 years.
