The Beauty Therapy Level 2 Diploma is ideal for those who are passionate about the beauty industry and aspire to build a career as a professional beauty therapist.
This diploma provides a solid foundation in beauty therapy techniques, theory, and practical skills, enabling participants to offer a range of beauty treatments and services to clients.
Throughout the course, participants will gain a thorough understanding of beauty therapy fundamentals, including anatomy and physiology, health and safety regulations, client care, and professional ethics.
They will learn about different skin types, common skin conditions, and the principles of facial skincare. Participants will also explore topics such as nail care, waxing techniques, and basic makeup application.
The practical training sessions will focus on developing hands-on skills in a wide range of beauty treatments. Participants will learn techniques for providing facials, including cleansing, exfoliation, mask application, and facial massage.
They will also gain expertise in manicure and pedicure services, including nail shaping, cuticle care, and polish application. Additionally, participants will learn waxing techniques for hair removal and basic makeup application for enhancing facial features.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age on or before 1st of July in the year of proposed entry to course.
Applicants must have a satisfactory level of fluency in English language, both written and spoken.
Purchase of kit and uniform will be required.

How Will I Be Assessed?
The emphasis is on ‘learning by doing’ and candidates are required to complete a number of tasks and/or tests to show their attainment of practical skills and underpinning knowledge.
The summative assessments for the qualification require the candidates to undertake practical tasks and knowledge and understanding task(s) or online assessments.
Further Study
On completion of this qualification students can progress onto a related level 3 qualification at SRC such as the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques or the Level 3 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up.
Careers
Upon successful completion of the Beauty Therapy Level 2 Diploma, participants will achieve a nationally recognised qualification, opening up a range of employment opportunities within the beauty industry.
Graduates may work in beauty salons, spas, wellness centres, cruise ships, or even start their own beauty therapy businesses.

Our Story
Southern Regional College is one of the largest education providers in Northern Ireland with approximately 10,000 students enrolled annually and over 900 members of staff.
