  • Teacher's Experience
  • At eleven years of age Kazia embarked on a vocational dance training programme at the Hammond School, Chester having received a Talented Child Award from the Department of Education for Northern Ireland. In 1989, having completed secondary education, Kazia continued her vocational training at the Central School of Ballet in London. At the end of her first year, she was privileged to be selected to attend the Kirov Ballet School, St. Petersburg for an intensive summer course in Classical Ballet training and Pas de Deux. After six years of intensive training geared specifically towards a career in performing, Kazia chose to extend her training to the teaching of dance at the College of the Royal Academy of Dance, London. In 1995 she graduated as Outstanding Student and was awarded the Jerwood Foundation Prize for Choreography and Personal Achievement. In addition to receiving a Diploma in Dance, she was elected a Licentiate of the Academy. Kazia then moved to the South West of England where she worked closely with RAD Examiner, Rosemarie Franklin, at the Classical Ballet Centre. During this time she freelanced extensively in Bath and Bristol teaching RAD ballet and ISTD Modern Grades and Jazz Awards. Kazia was invited and agreed to become a tutor of the Dance Faculty at Marlborough College International Summer School for several years. Following Rosemarie Franklin’s retirement, Kazia became Principal of the Classical Ballet Centre. During this time she was responsible for the concept, choreography and design of two major dance productions. Aspects of her choreographic concepts feature in the book “Staging Dance” published 1998. In 2005 Kazia was appointed a Grades Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance. It was during the same year that she returned to Northern Ireland and became a freelance teacher. In 2010 Kazia was appointed a CBTS Tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance and in 2013, following a rigorous selection process, became a CPD Tutor for the new Grades 4-5 Syllabi with the Academy.
