We usually start a bit later, as new students are signing in and taking care of the admin stuff. But not too much later, about 10 minutes or so. We certainly make up for that by ending the class later as well. I would not dare to take away precious dance time from anybody.

We get on the dance floor and begin by a brief introduction. In addition to a name and what part of Atlanta a person lives in, I like to add one more simple dance related question. It varies, so I’ll keep it a surprise. Then the music comes on and we dance. Yes, dance. I want folks to realize later how far everyone progresses after only 8 weekly Tango classes.
After that we begin to “play” with music by walking in rhythmic patterns, quick and slow, big and small, solo and with partners. We also learn how to connect in a “practice hold”.
This hold allows beginning dancers to maintain some distance so everyone’s feet are safe. When we dance again at the end of the very first class we already can see a dramatic difference compared to just 60 short minutes ago.
Ilya started Tango Bohemia School of Dance in 2006 in Atlanta, Georgia. Its mission – to promote a social style of Argentine Tango and to show to his students that it is not all that difficult to learn how to dance.
This is an introduction to Argentine Tango. This class in meant for someone with no prior experience of Tango or of dance. In this class you will learn the basic steps which consist of the 8 count salida, forward ochos, back ochos and paradas
Argentine Tango Dance Classes are offered by iDance Studio for all ages and skill level. Our intent at iDance Studio is to ensure that all our students have a wonderful experience in our classes as well as the opportunity to find joy in the art of dance.
The Tango is one of the most highly stylized ballroom dances. It is dramatic with measured crossing and flexing steps and poised pauses. Perhaps the main reason for its widespread popularity is that it is danced close to the partner.
You will learn several essential movements for the social dance floor so by the end of the series, you will feel like you are actually dancing! You do not have to bring a partner, Century Ballroom strives to have all classes balanced for both roles.
Tango dance classes are offered by River Oaks School of Dancing. Our group classes are a great way to hone your dancing skills! They make the perfect compliment to our private lessons and dance parties.
