Our fully equipped classroom is one of several venues used by Ministry of Craft for their sewing and craft workshops. Choose from a huge range of sessions including learn to sew in a day, tailor made lampshades, dress making, bodice fitting and more.
Aimed at dressmaking beginners but all skill levels welcome, this is for those that would like to do a bit of dressmaking on a Tuesday night. You bring the fabric, thread and pattern and we will walk you through it.
Interested in learning to sew? In this course, you’ll be taught how to use a sewing machine and learn the basics, and make a custom accessory.
This workshop is suitable for beginners or intermediate sewists who already know how to use a sewing machine - if you don’t know how to use a sewing machine then you will need to do the Absolute Beginners Class first.
Choose your own pattern and I’ll guide you through interpreting the ‘lingo’. How to choose your best size, choosing the right fabric, cutting and sewing – all with help at hand.
In these six evening sessions you will learn how to create four of our in-house sewing patterns and master a range of techniques to get you confidently started on your sewing journey. By the end of the course you will have a range of beautiful, functional items for your life and home.
