My home is nestled on the corner of a courtyard in the heart of Bo-Kaap. Faeeza’s Home Kitchen is where I get to share with you my passion for food, my culture, my life journey and stories. In my kitchen you get to know about authentic Cape Malay cuisine.
The Chamber’s Certificate in the Theory of Breadmaking is a course which has been designed to teach the theoretical aspects of plant baking.
You’ll create pitta (the flagstone Arabic bread), lavash (the Armenian flatbread used for wraps which can be stuffed and flavoured) and sangak (a wholewheat sourdough flatbread that’s slightly thicker than the other two).
Learn about the sourdough starter and how to maintain it. You will prepare the cultured dough in class. After mastering the dough, you will take it and bake your own sourdough bread at home to share with your family and friends.
Baking classes are hands on and practical with support of theory notes and recipes. Learn to the techniques, skills and tricks when baking cakes, decorating them and designing them based on different themes.
