Blackmarket Bakery launched with a simple vision - to create delight featuring real ingredients, classic technique and an irreverent sense of fun. What began as a veritable one-woman show selling at farmers markets has grown into a small chain of women-owned bakeries.
We make what we love with simple ingredients- if we can’t pronounce it, we don’t use it. If your grandmother wouldn’t bake with it, we won’t either. Our hardy crew of Blackmarketeers creates scratch-made treats - from flaky scones and croissants to decadent cookies and cakes - to change with the seasons.
We brew local coffee and espresso, bake daily breads and pastries and whip up nostalgic desserts - to provide a “conscious moment of indulgence” in San Diego and Orange Counties. Our line-up of breakfast and lunch options are also available as well as vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free treats.
Additionally, our bakeries stock a thoughtful line of retail items, bean-to-bar chocolates, cards and home goods from other small, women-owned businesses and local makers. You can also find our baked goods at many coffee shops throughout San Diego and Orange Counties, so you’re never too far from your next Blackmarket fix.
