Language Levels
Information on the language level structure at COL.
Elevate your language skills to an exceptional level of mastery with our advanced language lessons. These courses are designed to fine-tune your foreign language abilities, expand your vocabulary and enhance your communication skills to an exceptional level.
This course is designed to enable you to develop an ability to communicate with Deaf people using BSL in a range of familiar contexts, participating in longer and more open conversation than at a beginner’s course.
There are over 4000 Deaf people using British Sign Language (BSL) in the NHSGGC area. By law, we must provide an interpreter for our Deaf patients, both at health appointments and when they are in hospital.
This session is ‘must do’ training for your front line colleagues, supporting them to gain knowledge, skills and confidence to have a basic conversation with a deaf BSL user.
So whether you just need the basics to meet and greet and do the social niceties, or your aim is to converse fluently and be able to conduct your meetings in the target language, we are here to help.
