In the first two decades of the 21st century, tall building construction around the globe has seen a significant rise. The modern tall building design has achieved new records in reaching the height of the building; a 1 km (1000 m) tall building is already a reality.
In the first two decades of the 21st century, tall building construction around the globe has seen a significant rise. The modern tall building design has achieved new records in reaching the height of the building; a 1 km (1000 m) tall building is already a reality.
Now engineers are striving to increase the tallness further. Behind the success of achieving the tallness of the current building, the role of digital technologies is quite essential.
In this respect, Building Information Modeling or BIM is emerging as a powerful tool that enables structural engineers to develop the most innovative and robust structural system for a given project. BIM is not a software or a project management tool.
Instead, it provides an integrated platform in a coordinated virtual environment that enables architects, engineers, and constructors to visualize concepts of the respective discipline in a virtual model.
This course is designed to further develop civil and structural engineering skills towards understanding the fundamentals of BIM and its application in the structural system selection of tall buildings. Some real case studies of the recent design tall building projects using BIM will also be discussed.?
Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
The Centre for Advanced and Professional Education or CAPE UTP was established in May 2016 to provide flexible post-bachelor degree opportunities by developing sustainable programmes and modules of professional short courses.
CAPE aims to be the sought after partner to the industry by providing a platform for flexible learning to diverse learners and access to the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS’s intellectual resources.
This workshop is focused on BIM Project Management and is designed for BIM managers, project managers, architects and other AEC professionals who want to understand the relevant knowledge and learn the skills required to effectively manage BIM on a project.
The Tekla Structure Foundation Level preparatory course is specially designed to prepare students for the Tekla Structure Foundation Certification Assessment.
What makes this roadshow different from others is, the participants have an opportunity to experience the exquisiteness of bim through hands-on sessions. The sessions are divided into civil & structures, mechanical & electrical, architecture and contractor which will be conducted in parallel sessio...
The Revit Architecture Essentials training course is designed to teach you the Revit functionality as you would work with it in the design process.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to leverage autocad and revit effectively for architectural design, construction documentation, and building information management.
