East Midlands Congenital Heart Network works to bring clinical teams, managers, commissioners and patient/family representatives from across the region together to support patients of all ages with a congenital heart condition, and their families/carers.
The East Midlands Congenital Heart Network role and function is to enable and support a collaborative and seamless approach to congenital heart disease patient care across the East Midlands, ensuring that the services delivered are of a high quality and the provision of care is equitable across the Network.
Objectives
Through the delivery of an annually agreed programme of work the Network will support the delivery of both regional and national priorities. This will be based on the assurance that we will:
Provide strategic direction for congenital heart disease care across the East Midlands
Support the overall vision of the Network
Agree key priorities areas of improvement
Support the education, training and development
Provide a central point of information and communication for Network stakeholders

The course will include talks on normal cardiac anatomy and cardiac abnormalities. We will have members from our cardiac specialist nurse team and they will talk about the management and support of families expecting a child with a cardiac abnormality.

Acute Cardiology Simulation Training (ACST) is an interactive course that aims to develop the skills and knowledge required for common cardiology scenarios. Expert faculty will help you learn to manage acutely unwell patients in a systematic manner.
The Cardiology programme runs over 5 years. The first 3 years are core training, in which the trainee gains basic cardiology experience.
