Regulations, in both the private and public sector, are becoming more and more complex. They are, however, an integral part of everyone’s lives.

Regulators in Canada have recognized the need to augment their expertise by increasing their understanding of the interactions between regulatory policy, private business, not-for-profit organizations, and the citizens they serve.

Carleton University responded to this need by offering a professional development program tailored to the needs of the regulatory professional.

The Career Development for Regulatory Professionals (CDRP) program is an advanced professional development program for leaders in all aspects of regulation, from policy to implementation.  The curriculum is built around four key components of the regulatory life-cycle:

  • Problem Definition
  • Instrument Design
  • Instrument Implementation
  • Performance Measurement
