Students who attend the simulated training are expected to wear the required safety attire (Helmet, Safety Shoes and an overall) at all times.
The Competency Based Modular Training (CBMT) is the first stage in your career path that will allow the student to attain artisan status by successfully completing a trade test, after the prescribed work-based (on-site) experience.

Although artisan occupations are primarily focused on hand skills and practical ability, they are supported by a substantial amount of general or vocational or fundamental knowledge learnt at a College for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET College).

A Carpenter and Joiner makes, fixes and installs furniture and other wooden objects. Some carpenters work on building sites – hanging doors, making specialised window frames, cupboards and wall units.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the student with upholstery skills to enable him/her to enter into a career in furniture production.
Provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding to work effectively in the furniture industry. Develop the ability to craft beautiful and functional master pieces with one of nature’s resources.
The classes are small - maximum of 6 students in the Beginner's and Intermediate classes and a maximum of 4 in the Adv anced class
Level 1 of the Woodworking Foundation Course.
