They build a house to scale in order to learn framing, drywall, rough and fine finishing, siding, shingled roofing, and door and window installation. Students construct a full size deck and staircase. Training includes blueprint reading, safety practices, and trade mathematics.

This course will teach you how to prepare a bowl blank with an axe (via demonstration/instruction), how to turn that blank into a bowl using turning hooks and various techniques, and how to finish the bowl with drying oils, paint, and other finishes.
Learn the elegant art of working wood by hand. We cover the basics of wood as a material, tool selection, and sharpening. We welcome total beginners, history buffs and “makers.” Hand tools are a wonderful and practical way to work wood in a small space like an apartment.
