Objectives
Why EASTC?
Demonstrate a basic understanding of the construction industry in terms of its composition, role players and the impact of the industry on the South African economy. Read and interpret drawings and prepare the work area, tools, equipment and materials accordingly.
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the student with upholstery skills to enable him/her to enter into a career in furniture production.
It prepares students to either go on a learnership, or to be skilled enough to seek entry level employment in the woodwork and cabinetry industry. The theory and practical projects prepare students to become employees as well as equip them to become self-employed.
The courses presented at Northlink College are career-orientated to bridge the gap between the workshop and the world of work with the least disruption at the end of the training period.
