Students who attend the simulated training are expected to wear the required safety attire (Helmet, Safety Shoes and an overall) at all times.
The Competency Based Modular Training (CBMT) is the first stage in your career path that will allow the student to attain artisan status by successfully completing a trade test, after the prescribed work-based (on-site) experience accredited by the MERSETA, MAPPSETA, CHIETA, ESETA, AgriSETA. Note that the mentioned SETAs has the authority to approve your work-based experience.

Heavy Current engineers are responsible for managing the effective supply and distribution of electricity. Heavy Current technicians act as a support structure to engineers and ensure that any faults with the equipment supplying the electricity.
The Electrical Engineering programme is the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. Electrical Engineers study the uses of electricity and equipment for power generation and distribution.
Port Elizabeth College offers further study opportunities in the form of part-time courses to enhance qualifications and keep in touch with advancing technology and development.
Our apprentices also undergo 3 months of training by one of only 200 master electricians in South Africa in the subject Installation Rules.
