Course Details

Carleton University’s Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution program was established in 1997 in the Department of  Law and Legal Studies to meet the demand for knowledgeable and highly skilled conflict resolution practitioners. 

It is designed to help working professionals develop a set of core competencies to understand and effectively intervene in conflict situations.

Active professionals in the field of conflict and alumni from the Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution program meet regularly to advance their knowledge and skills.

The Centre for Conflict Education and Research facilitates individuals bridging the gap between completing their studies in conflict resolution and entering the field as a professional by providing a community of practice.

CCER supports student learning in the Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution program by providing assistance to the role-play practice group. The role-play program run by volunteers  and provides students in the GDCR program the opportunity to simulate conflict situations.

CCER partners with the Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution program to run the Insight Mediation Coaching Program. The program provides trained coaches at role-play practice sessions to ensure meaningful and supportive feedback is provided to students who are learning to mediate.
