Course Details

This nationally recognised qualification will give you the basic knowledge and skills required to commence work in a hairdressing salon as a salon assistant. You will gain genuine hands-on experience working with real clients in our on-campus training salon.

Our course delivery features a combination of on-campus and remote (online) learning. This flexibility allows our students to continue to study in a safe, guided and supported manner.

Course Structure:

On Campus - 7 weeks - 3 days per week - Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 9:00am - 3:00pm

  • This qualification may help you to find employment as an apprentice hairdresser. A hairdressing qualification can lead to many work opportunities, from owning your own salon to working at fashion shows or in film and television.


Course overview:

This is a preparatory qualification which provides a defined and limited range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who provide assistance with client services. These routine and repetitive tasks are completed under direct supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client service.

The combined skills and knowledge do not provide for a job outcome as a hairdresser and this qualification is intended to prepare individuals for further training. No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

 

Selection process:

  • Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
  • Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be given for skills and knowledge gained through previous study or other relevant experience.  Further information refer to RPL
