You will gain foundational skills in fashion illustration, colour theory, technical production sketches, Computer Aided Design specific for fashion design, as well as some fashion industry knowledge.

FDS at TAFE NSW was the first dedicated fashion design school in Sydney. Learn the tips and tricks of Hand Piecing. Learn how to calculate rotary cutting block pieces from drawn to scale blocks. Join us on the slow train in our Hand Piecing Classes.  This wonderful technique might be slower than a sewing machine however its portability makes up for the lack of speed.
Machine Embroidery classes are offered by Carlos Midland for all skill level. We will be doing a different project so you can learn different techniques on your embroidery machine. You can start this class on any month.
In Sharon’s beginner course, you will learn many techniques including rotary cutting, accurate piecing, perfect pressing, attaching borders with precision and attaching continuous binding. Sharon shares many tips and tricks to enhance your quilt making skills.
The PatchWorks conducts a number of quilt making classes throughout the year including a free tuition beginners quilt class for those who would love to make a quilt but don’t know where to start. We have three class terms and publish class lists prior to commencement of each term.
Want to learn to sew? From simple mending to alterations, Dressmaking or Patchwork and Quilting, we cover it all. Come along, you'll make new friends, have a laugh and sew lots. You can work on our simple projects or bring along your own items or projects to sew.
