This course is a nationally recognised qualification that covers both the theory and the practical components required for employment in residential aged care and/ or community settings.
By focusing on individualised plans, students are taught a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices involved in providing person-centred support.
To successfully achieve this qualification, students must complete at least 120 hours of work placement excluding lunch breaks or work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
This course is recommended for people with a caring and patient nature, who are seeking a rewarding career in caring for the elderly.
