The course is perfect for anyone wishing to upgrade their IEMA membership to Practitioner Level (PIEMA) and Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP).

The IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management Course syllabus covers a wide range of environmental and sustainability issues to enable you to become a practitioner who can drive change in organisations.

A practical approach is adopted to enable organisations to improve their environmental performance and reduce their impacts, both strategically and operationally.

 

Syllabus:

Module 1

  • Fundamentals of sustainability, business and governance
  • This module explains the implications of global trends for the environment, for society, for the economy and for organisations. The module also explains the role of the Environment/Sustainability practitioner in overcoming these challenges. The module looks at sustainable business governance models, their underlying principles and their relationship with organisations, products and services.

 

Module 2

  • Environmental principles, policy and legislation
  • The module explains environmental principles and their relationship with organisation, products and services. This module also explains significant policy and legislation and implications for organisations, products and services. 

 

Module 3

  • Environmental management, assessment tools and skills
  • The module explains the tools, techniques, systems and practices used to develop sustainable products and services and improve sustainability performance. The module also looks at the role of innovation and in developing those products and services.
  • The module demonstrates how to collect and critically analyse data and report information. It covers how to identify problems and assess opportunities that deliver innovation and determine the most effective ways of communicating the findings.
  • The module showcases how to apply or implement tools, techniques, systems and practices to identify opportunities and risks, as well as implement change and transformation.
