Parent Representatives must have a child enrolled in Saturday Music as a condition of acting in this role. Both roles are necessary for the continuing function of the Board.
Saturday Music Charitable Trust (Inc) is a registered charity (CC29243) and is supported by the Primary School Out-of-Hours Music Scheme of the Ministry of Education. It is administered by a Trust Board and is hosted by Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School, operating under the regulations of the Ministry of Education.
The aims of Saturday Music are to:
Out of School Music classes are intended to give all primary school children the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.
Youth Orchestra is made up of players from all over Northland. With the conductor’s guidance, they explore and express messages the composers have hidden in their music, and share it with their audience.
The school provides Ministry of Education subsidised group music lessons for primary and intermediate age school students
Music is supposed to be a group activity – which is why playing music is always better with friends!
Orchestra classes are offered by Hastings Piano Teacher. Hastings piano teacher Wendy Hunt is the person for you. Wendy is happy to teach all, from young children to mature adults, from beginners to advanced students.
