Immerse yourself in the world of chocolate, tasting, tempering and moulding your way to sweet success! With the expert guidance of Jon Hogan, you’ll leave our chocolate masterclass with all the skills and knowledge to create delicious treats at home.
The day will start with a chocolate-y Cookery School breakfast, followed by a chocolate tasting, which will include top brands such as Original Beans, Amedei and Valrhona. After this, you will learn the techniques necessary to make your own truffles and a range of different chocolates, which will include wonderful filled ones. You will have a chance to catch your breath over a Cookery School lunch and then roll up your sleeves to continue reinforcing the chocolate making skills acquired during the morning, including making your own chocolate gifts for Christmas .
Cookery School’s aim is to take people back to honest, homely, delicious cooking. There is nothing cheffy or fancy about the food – it is simply delicious home-made food, using common utensils that can be found in most home kitchens.
The focus is on demystifying cooking techniques, removing jargon and bringing back solid cooking skills, using high quality, primarily organic, sustainable ingredients.
At Cookery School it has always been about the food. It is not about using famous chefs but rather using the best teachers who understand the Cookery School way of teaching and make learning how to cook good food with confidence as accessible as possible.
Even prior to the inception of Cookery School, the school’s founder, Rosalind, has been fervently passionate about sustainability. Our Original Chocolate Making Workshop is our most popular chocolate workshop and is a fantastic introduction to the art of chocolate making a deliciously fun treat, packed with decadent truffle making, demonstrations and of course lots of mouth watering chocolate.
