DurationThe National Certificate (Vocational) (Civil Engineering and Building Construction) is a new Civil Engineering and Building Construction Qualification at each of Levels 2, 3 and 4 of the NQF. This qualification is designed to provide both the theory and practice of Civil Engineering and Building Construction. The practical component of study may be offered in a real workplace environment or in a simulated workplace environment. It will provide students with an opportunity to experience work situations during the period of study.

South West Gauteng College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), formerly, FET college, operating under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in terms of the Continuing Education and Training Act, Act No.16 of 2006, as amended.
The College is accredited by Umalusi and several Sector Education and Training Authorities (Seta’s) to offer education and training, mostly in the FET band (NQF Level 2 to 4). A civil engineer is responsible for planning, design, maintenance, monitoring, evaluation and management of construction projects. These projects are concerned with the construction of multi-storey building, roads, bridges, airports, harbour, sport stadia and water and sewerage purification plants.
This programme is designed to provide both the theory and practical of Electrical Infrastructure Construction.
