Achieving the necessary entry requirements at academic level in N3 of this course will enable you to continue studying the N4 – N6 Certificates and ultimately obtain the National N-Diploma.
Alternatively the N4 Certificate with Mathematics and Engineering Science also gives access to enter Higher Education at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) should you meet the entry requirements for that institution.

Civil Engineers design, build, supervise, operate and maintain construction projects in both the public and private sector. From the construction of roads, railways, airports, bridges to the building of massive skyscrapers, the civil engineer plays a critical role in bringing these to life.

All the NATED programs offered are trimester based, ranging from the National Certificate level 1 (which is equivalent to an NQF qualification level 2) up to a National Certificate level 6 (which is equivalent to an NQF qualification level 5).
This qualification is designed to provide both the theory and practice of Civil Engineering and Building Construction. The practical component of study may be offered in a real workplace environment or in a simulated workplace environment.
A civil engineer is responsible for planning, design, maintenance, monitoring, evaluation and management of construction projects. These projects are concerned with the construction of multi-storey building, roads, bridges, airports, harbour, sport stadia and water and sewerage purification plants.
