I approach each clarinet student individually, working with strengths and addressing weaknesses in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.
I approach each clarinet student individually, working with strengths and addressing weaknesses in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. Individual musical interests (such as jazz, pop, classical, or rock genres) are incorporated into each lesson, helping to streamline and facilitate the learning process. Beginning students learn to make music from the first lesson starting with simple songs, and eventually with me joining in playing duets at each lesson.
At each clarinet lesson we work with short term goals, leading to long term improvement. As confidence and technical ability develop students cans explore more challenging songs, compositions, duets, and improvisation.
Remember why you are learning an instrument… Music is an adventure and great joy in life. Enjoy your playing and have fun!
Learning to play the clarinet can be fun and very rewarding. It’s a great instrument for many reasons. It’s small and can be easily taken anywhere, it’s not very loud so it can be practiced without the neighbors getting annoyed and it can be played with any band or orchestra.
