We are lucky to have two tutors who are highly experienced in all three instruments! From beginners to advanced players they are able to cater to your level. If you are just playing for fun, our teachers are able to guide you through specific songs or styles you like or if you want to learn theory and grades they can do that too!
Both teachers have trained from a high standard at the Birmingham Conservatoire and have a passion for teaching all ages and abilities.
Shades Music shop, repair and tuition centre, was opened by Christopher Poole on the 1st December 2007.
Shades have 100’s of regular customers and helping over 250 students per week, achieve their goals!
We also sell beginner and intermediate instruments as well as all accessories and offer a full repair centre for Woodwind, guitars, ukuleles and bass.
Shop opening times are from 14:00 – 20:00 Monday – Friday and 9:30 until 17:30 on Saturdays.

We encourage our students to take regular graded exams (entirely optional). These are fully accredited to be equivalent to low grade GCSEs at the lower end, all the way up to A-level and UCAS points in the upper grades, or simply play for FUN.
The clarinet has a distinctive tone quality, and is an excellent instrument to learn with us at Prelude School of Music.
Whether you’re looking to play the clarinet for the first time, brush up on your skills after a break from making music, or aiming to get a distinction at Grade 8, our experienced and highly qualified music educators will help you on your journey to learning to play the clarinet.
Clarinet classes are offered by Leicester Music Lessons. We encourage our students to participate in concerts held throughout the year to build confidence & provide a supportive environment to showcase progress.
The clarinet was developed from a baroque instrument called the chalumeau around the 18th century. The sound range of a clarinet is huge, covering both high and low pitches.
You can learn to read music as part of the process, but you can also learn to play by ear if you prefer. We can teach any style from classical to jazz, including improvisation.
